CONSTITUTION OF THE TISBURY ANGLING CLUB

1. Objects
a. To promote and protect the best interests of anglers and angling in the district
b. To rent or acquire fishing rights in the Tisbury area and generally improve the sport of members
c. To hold competitions, outings, and social activities for Club members
d. Wherever possible to instruct and encourage junior members in the sport of angling

2. Annual and Special General Meetings
a. Members shall be given at least 14 days written notice in advance of all General Meetings.
b. An Annual General meeting shall be held in the month of April annually.
c. A special General Meeting must be held on the Hon secretary receiving written representation on a specific subject of concern signed by not less than 10 full members
d. At the Special General Meeting no other matter shall be discussed that for which the Meeting was convened
e. The Quorum at all General Meetings shall be 10 full members
f. Voting at General meeting shall be on a simple show of hands of all members present
g. No alteration to the rules of the club shall be made other than at the General Meetings. Proposal for alterations must be submitted in writing to the Hon Secretary at least 21 days prior to the Annual General Meeting.

3. Election of a President
a. A president shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting.

4. Management
a. The management of the club shall be conducted by a Chairman, Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Hon Subscription secretary and up to 9 members, all of whom shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
b. The committee shall meet Bi-monthly or at such intervals as shall be agreed.
c. At the committee meetings five shall form a quorum.
d. The committee shall have the power to co-opt members to fill any vacancy that night occur.
e. The committee shall maintain a bank account in the name of the club. The club’s bankers shall be NatWest Bank or such bank as the committee hall decide. Cheques over £100 shall be signed by 2 committee members and cheques for £100 and under shall be signed by any one committee member who has been duly authorised to do so by the committee.
f. The Hon Treasurer shall present an Income and expenditure account and balance sheet made up to the preceding 31st December at the Annual General Meeting.

5. Membership
a. Membership shall be open to ladies and gentlemen over the age of 16 years as at the 16th of June and shall be limited if found necessary at each Annual General Meeting.
b. Junior members shall be open to juveniles between the age of 12 and 16 inclusive as at the 16th June. Junior members shall have no voting rights in General Meetings.
c. Membership of the club shall be continuous but shall be deemed to have lapsed if the subscription not received by 16th June any year.
d. Concessionary rates of subscriptions shall be available to juniors and OAPS who live within a five-mile radius of Tisbury, such rates to be agreed at the Annual General Meeting.
e. Any junior under the age of 12 may fish cub waters free when accompanied by his or her parent member.
f. The President, Chairman, Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Hon Subscription secretary and Hon Match secretary shall be honorary members during the term of office
g. Annual subscriptions shall be agreed at the Annual General meeting, no member may fish club waters unless subscription is paid up to date.

Rules for Tisbury Angling Club

• Acceptance of membership shall be deemed to donate acceptance of all club rules. The committee shall have the power to reprimand or expel any member who contravenes these rules, or whose conduct is, in their opinion, prejudicial to the interest of the club.
• Any member shall have the right to appeal in person to the committee with regards to any decision affecting themselves, provided that notice of such appeal is submitted in writing within 14 days of the notification of that decision.
• All members must be in possession of a valid Environmental Agency rod licence, or proof of payment.
• The season shall run from 16th June to the following 14th March inclusive on all club waters except for Dinton and Wardour lakes which shall be open all year. Members may fy fish for trout in the period from 15th April to 30th September.
• All members shall take care to prevent damage to property, to shut gates, and to remove all litter in the area they are fishing even if the litter is not their own. Failure to do will result in expulsion from the club.
• The Committee shall be empowered to appoint members to act as Bailiffs for the club.
• Members shall carry their membership cards when fishing club waters and produce them on request from a Committee member or Bailiff in possession of the requisite authority.
• No Barbed Hooks to be used (Except when Pike Fishing)
• No use of boats or radios on club waters.
• No night fishing at Wardour Lake between the hours of 10pm and 6am.
• No tins of bait to be taken to club waters. Bait boxes should be used instead.
• Barbel and Pike not to be put into a keepnet. Carp and silvers are to be placed into separate keep nets. Carp of more than 3-4lb should be returned immediately after capture.
• No more than 2 brace of Trout caught on a fly to be killed on any one day. Trout caught whilst coarse fishing are to be released immediately.
• No line is to be left unattended in the water or baited on the bank
• All exchange books to be returned within 24 hours.
• The venue of any weekend match must be vacated by independent anglers 12 hours prior to match start time.
• Boilies, nuts and peas are banned at all club waters.
• Night fishing permitted at Dinton Lake only.
• Maximum of 2 rods only on club waters.
• Guest tickets are available at the price agreed by the AGM and will be published on the website.
• No magnet fishing allowed on any Tisbury Anglin club water.
• Matches are fished under separate rules, details of which are available from the match secretary and are published on the website.

Any questions that may arise as to the interpretation of these rules shall be decided by the committee whose decision should be final.
