Wardour Castle

Brief description of fishery:

Set in the peaceful Wiltshire countryside beside the 14th century Old Wardour Castle, near Tisbury Wardour lake is a natural well-balanced venue with an excellent head of growing fish.

Wardour Lake has 22 purpose-built platforms all a very large size some being double family swims. The lake is 3 acres and the depths vary between 3 – 6ft. Large stocks of carp both mirrors and commons up to 15 plus lb, with, bream, crucians, roach, rudd all regularly caught.

All methods will produce good weights of fish with pellets fished over pellet or method feeder rigs accounting for many of the specimen carp. The method feeder and pellet waggler are winning match tactics and good bags of mixed fish being caught on the pole.

The lake is open all year from dawn to dusk, with no night fishing.

Access & Parking

Wardour lake is located between Tisbury and Semley in rural Wiltshire and is well sign posted following tourist signs for Wardour castle.

On arrival please park on the grass next to the main carpark which is used for visitors to the castle.
